    ABOUT OUR CHURCH:

Macomb Christian Church has a Sunday morning attendance of 250-300 but has the history and potential of being much larger. A new Lead Minister, Kurt Charlton, was hired in August 2023 and the former Lead Minister, Andy Timm, transitioned to the role of Teaching Minister. Kurt’s passion is for organizational health and is working to breathe new life into our staff, ministries, leadership development, and organizational structure. This exciting time of restructuring and transition is a perfect time for a new Worship Minister to jump on board and contribute to our growth.

Our facility allows plenty of space for ministry and was recently updated, refreshed, and remodeled in the past few years. The 300-seat auditorium features a large stage, professional A/V equipment, and room for growth. Large group events can be held in the full-size gymnasium and commercial kitchen.

The Worship Center was recently updated with a modern design. It has a large stage, updated lighting, digital projection screens, a 40-channel digital board, etc. There is a budget for multiple stage redesigns throughout the year and flexibility to create plenty of options.

    ABOUT OUR AREA:

Macomb Christian Church is in the heart of Macomb County, which is the third largest county in Michigan. With a population of almost 900,000, Macomb County is home to a very diverse population. The southern part of the county is just outside of downtown Detroit and is mostly urban. The northern part of the county is very rural and has a lot of parks, farmland, and
    golf courses.

The church is in Shelby Township, which is a highly populated suburban area of 80,000 residents in the middle of the county. This transitional area is mostly comprised of
sub-divisions and new developments. A couple of miles to the south is a major highway where you can find countless stores, restaurants, entertainment venues, etc. A few miles to the north are rural farmland, but the area is quickly being converted to sub-division housing. There are a lot of parks, trails, ponds, and outdoor activities in the region.

      • Musicians
      • Sound Team Members

    ABOUT OUR PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATE:

Macomb Christian Church is a non-denominational, independent, Christian Church with strong ties to the Restoration Movement. Candidates from other denominations are welcome, but a preference will be given to those with a background in the Restoration Movement. Candidates will be asked to explain their theology regarding Scripture, baptism, salvation process, heaven, hell, communion, Trinity, etc.

We are looking for a gifted man or woman with a passion for leading worship. The Worship Minister will need to be experienced and comfortable leading from the stage and leading volunteers behind the scenes. He or she will need to be able to hit the ground running and begin leading, planning, and coordinating at day one.

The prospective candidate must love the local church, love people, and love serving God. They will be a visible representation of our church to the congregation and the community, so they must lead with skill, integrity, and passion. He or she will be considered a pastor/minister to the congregation and will be assigned additional leadership roles that may not be related to worship. The Worship Minister will need to fit with the chemistry and culture of our staff and congregation. We are looking for someone who is called into ministry as a lifestyle and understand their role is much bigger than leading songs or performing.
