Student Ministry Job Description

Purpose: The next generation is critical to Reidsville Christian Church. Therefore, finding the right person to lead Student Ministry (6-12th grades) is integral to the present and future of our church.

Reports To: The Student Minister will report to the Elders of RCC. Daily, the position will be managed by the Associate Minister.

Overview: To manage the needs of & grow the Student Ministry in alignment with the values of Reidsville Christian Church.

ESSENTIALS

Character

-Talent and passion are necessary, but character is essential. A successful candidate must first manage their own walk with God & their family before they can shepherd a ministry flock. Must love all unconditionally.

Leadership

-The ideal candidate must be a leader of leaders. A self-starter: flexible and well-organized. Able to lead when necessary and delegate when appropriate.

Relationships

-The secret sauce of youth ministry is investing in relationships. The ideal candidate must build relationships not only with students but also with parents. Disciples make disciples.   

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Create safe, welcoming, consistent ministry environments.
  • Manage weekly programming (connection group, youth group)
  • Teach God’s Word at programming.
  • Develop ministry calendar: events, trips, camps, missions, etc.
  • Recruit, train, and equip volunteers.
  • Oversee youth budget & fundraisers.
  • Communicate ministry events via social media, emails, mailers, etc.
  • Provide spiritual guidance when appropriate.
  • Community involvement
  • Serve in other church needs when appropriate.
