Summary: Park Christian Church is a local church with big dreams to change the world around us by being an encouraging, caring, community of hope. We are a community that is excited about what God can do with a small group of committed, passionate followers. The Lead Minister shepherds and continues encouraging the growth of the congregation, recognizing that ultimately Christ grows the church.

Responsibilities

• Preaching/Worship
  • Consistently delivers engaging, challenging, and applicable sermons.
  • Cooperates with the Worship Leader to create cohesive worship services.

• Leadership/Leadership Development & Discipleship
  • Implements Park’s mission in partnership with the Elders and Staff.
  • Meets regularly with the Elders to facilitate the work of the church.
  • Holds regularly scheduled staff meetings and provides direction, support, and encouragement to the Staff.
  • Provides direction, support, and encouragement to Ministry Team Leaders.

• Outreach/Community Engagement
  • Champions evangelism by inspiring, equipping, and motivating the congregation to share the gospel with those within our local community.
  • Spends intentional time in the community.

• Congregation Relations/Pastoral Care
  • Provides ongoing pastoral support and care for the congregation in partnership with the Elders and Staff.
  • Performs hospital and shut-in visitations in partnership with the Elders and Staff.
  • Conducts baptisms, premarital counseling, weddings, and funerals as needed.

• Professional Development/Personal Growth
  • Continues to grow spiritually and is a lifelong learner.
  • Actively seeks honest and constructive feedback from the Elders and others.

• Administration
  • Develop an annual budgeting plan in cooperation with the Finance Committee
  • Works within the approved annual budget and maintains fiscal responsibility with the church resources.
  • Communicates regularly with the church’s Treasurer and the Financial Secretary to monitor annual budget.

Qualifications

• Passionately embodies God’s Word and lives out the gospel in daily life.
• Shows a deep commitment to Christ and displays His heart for all people.
• As an immersed believer, fully understands and supports the doctrine of Park Christian Church within the Restoration Movement.
• Consistent spiritual-moral character and lifestyle.
• Excellent at administrative oversight.
• Pursues and cultivates healthy interpersonal relationships.
• Proven ability to connect to a wide variety of ages and demographics.
• Displays strong biblical preaching skills in expository and topical styles.
• Willing to place his membership with Park Christian Church.
• Ordained by a Restoration Movement Church.
• Required Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of ministry.
• Five years of full-time ministry experience preferred.
• Successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check including sex offender registry.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license (driving record will be reviewed), able to be approved for coverage under church motor vehicle insurance.
