Oak Grove Church of Christ

PURPOSE:

To serve the congregation as a preacher and to work with the elders and/or other leaders in the congregation to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Preach at Sunday morning service.
2. Teach or facilitate teachers for Wednesday evening and Sunday Morning classes.
3. Conduct funerals, weddings.
4. Conduct personal studies with individuals interested in learning more about Christ both within the congregation and in the community.
5. Visit members in the hospital and follow up with visitors to the congregation.
6. Encourage involvement at every level.
7. Foster healthy relationships with other preachers in surrounding areas.

Management:

1. Serve as a team leader to coordinate office procedures, secretarial staff, and other items relating to providing the congregation with an efficient service center.
2. Schedule and lead Sunday School meetings which will enhance and enable better relationships with God, with each other, and with the rest of the congregation.
3. Edit, write articles, and ensure quality of weekly bulletin.
4. Report to the church Board during monthly meetings.

Counseling:

1. Provide premarital counseling.
2. Provide other counseling, when appropriate, to those who desire it.
3. Offer referral and encourage further help for those who need it.
