Rising Sun Church of Christ is a growing church in a rural community. Over the last year, we have grown by over 50% and we are seeing a lot of new faces. We currently have an average attendance of about 375 and it’s growing all the time. Our community is full of young families and this position will be vital in reaching them
Organizational Relationship and Supervision:
This position reports to the Lead Pastor. This position is full time: 40hr/wk.
Job Overview:
We are currently hiring for a children’s minster/director that can help our church grow. Above all, we hope to find someone experienced in leading children, who can easily engage with and communicate with young ones and who has a strong love for families. In addition, we seek someone who can attract and retain new kids and families, manage teams of volunteers, and have a mature relationship Jesus.
Qualifications:
- Baptized Christian who feels called into ministry by God
- Strong communication skills, especially with children
- Love for children and families
- Solid organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to build and manage volunteer teams
Children’s Minister/Director – Full Time
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all programming and ministry for children from birth – fifth grade, including on Sunday mornings and any special events.
- Research and prepare a curriculum for each program and each age level.
- Create child-friendly environments, activities, and programming for each age group that fosters learning and encourages spiritual growth.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and lead teams of volunteers.
- Create a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children andfamilies.
