Position Title:         Student Pastor

Category:                 Full-time Salaried Pastor

Direct Report:         Executive Pastor

Location: Abingdon, VA

Salary: Negotiable based on experience; 3+ preferred

Ministry Responsibilities

General

-Hold regular office hours

-Serve or Volunteer regularly in a ministry outside of your oversight.

-Participate in a weekly Small Group or Bible Study for your own spiritual growth

-Other responsibilities as needed

Student Ministry

-Oversee theologically sound teaching during each Sunday morning and evening service

-Identify, train, equip & empower volunteers to teach and lead discipling groups in the areas of middle and high school at both Abingdon & Meadowview campus

-Plan, oversee and evaluate all components of the Student Ministry curriculum, worship, retreats, camps and events

-Regularly communicate with the Lead Pastor regarding cohesive adult and student lessons and sermons

-Regularly communicate with the Lead Pastor regarding continuous improvement of the Student Ministry

-Use Planning Center to schedule volunteer’s multiple weeks out to ensure ample communication

-Set and manage the Student Ministry budget for the continuous improvement of the student’s experience.

Leadership

-Develop personal and ministerial goals for the Student Ministry and a strategy to hit those goals

-Develop key volunteers while promoting and equipping a serving environment

 

Role Requirements

-A desire to lead and to learn.

-A bachelor’s degree in Student Ministry from an accredited university

-3+ years of full-time Ministry experience preferred.

-Must adhere to the Theological statements of the church as found on the website and provided in a Statement of Faith
